How to Quickly Sort and Assign Images Across Multiple Jobs Using QR Codes

The Multi-Job QR Import tool in Workflow is a fast and efficient way to sort and assign images from multiple jobs at once using QR Codes. This tool is perfect for large events or busy seasons when you need to process thousands of images quickly.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have completed the following:

  • Sort is enabled (available with the Capture add-on).

  • QR Codes have been exported, printed, and used during capture.

  • You have taken the first photo of each subject/group holding their QR Code clearly.

  • All images from your camera cards are copied into one single folder on your computer.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Gather Your Images

  • Copy all QR workflow images from your camera cards into one dedicated folder.

  • Ensure only the images intended for sorting are included.

2. Access the Multi-Job QR Import Tool

  • In Workflow, navigate to the Jobs tab.

  • Click Tools > Multi-Job QR Import.

3. Select Your Folder

  • Choose the folder containing all your images.

  • Click Autosort to automatically begin scanning QR Codes and assigning images.

4. Review and Make Corrections

  • The tool will attempt to auto-assign images based on QR Codes.

  • Review the results carefully:

    • Correct any images that did not automatically sort.

    • Any images without a matching QR Code will remain "unsorted" and can be manually assigned later.

5. Save and Sync

  • Save a report if you’d like a record of assigned and unassigned images (optional).

  • Click Sync to upload your sorted images to the cloud and update your galleries.

Helpful Tips for Successful Sorting

  • Focus Matters: Make sure the QR Code is clear, sharp, and not blocked by fingers or objects.

  • QR Code Visibility: Use clipboards or stable surfaces to keep QR Cards steady when photographing.

  • Prepare for Surprises: You can create and sync "blank" QR Codes ahead of time for any unexpected subjects and fill in their information later.

  • Gallery Access: Subjects can use QR Codes to scan and access their galleries if they are set up with the Gallery Link type.

Common Reasons a QR Code Might Not Work

  • The subject tied to the QR Code was deleted or recreated after QR codes were printed.

  • The QR Code photo is out of focus, bent, or partially covered.

  • Glare or poor lighting made the code unreadable.

  • Taking a clean, focused image at a 3/4 body distance helps ensure a successful scan every time.

Quick Recap

  • Gather all images into one folder.

  • Go to Jobs > Tools > Multi-Job QR Import.

  • Select the folder and run Autosort.

  • Review and fix any unmatched images.

  • Save and Sync!
