In Workflow, orders placed by customers are normally released automatically to the lab for fulfillment. However, studios may want the flexibility to hold orders first, allowing time for quality assurance (QA) or to batch orders together before sending them to the lab.

Holding orders gives you more control over order accuracy, package combinations, and timing for lab submissions. Follow this guide to set up automatic order holding and manage orders efficiently for bulk fulfillment.

Why Set Orders to Hold?

  • Review and edit orders before sending them to print.

  • Correct errors such as pose selections, background choices, crops, or filters.

  • Batch orders together to reduce shipping costs or coordinate bulk deliveries.

  • Manage large events or seasonal jobs more smoothly.

How to Set Up Automatic Hold on Orders

Step 1: Create or Edit Your Job

From the Jobs tab, click + New Job to create a new job or open an existing job you wish to modify.

Step 2: Update the Fulfillment Settings

In the job’s settings panel, find the Order Fulfillment section.

Look for the option to control how orders are released.

Step 3: Enable "Hold Orders for Manual Release"

Select the setting to hold orders for manual release instead of sending them automatically to the lab.

This ensures that all incoming orders will be held for review before being fulfilled.

Step 4: Save Your Changes

Click Save to apply your changes to the job.
