With based-on order (BOO) discount codes and multiple price sheets, studios can setup easy workflows that applies a discount to a customer's next order after their initial qualifying purchase. This workflow requires:

  • A based-on order discount code.

  • An initial qualifying order successfully placed.

❗Warning This workflow is not supported with non-subject (Standard) job types.

Start

Create a discount code

The Based-on Order discount code will be attached to packages and products on price sheets that are the "qualifying" purchase.

πŸ“ Note:

  • Subjects will only receive one discount code per order.

  • Codes can be redeemable for specific products on more than one price sheet.

Under Shopping Cart β†’ Create Discount Codes, select New in the top-right corner.

Here's an example of setting up a based-on order code:

πŸ“ Consider the following:

  • Discount Type is configured to create a naming schema using data. *

  • Discount Type is configured to auto-populate on the next order.

  • The code is Single-Use - each code created can only be used once.

  • The discount is configured to take $20 off of All Products & Add-ons.

  • Created codes are available for use immediately with no expiration date.

*Using a schema like in the example may help identify a code's origin during bookkeeping, but it's recommended to keep the code randomized.

Setup Full Order Price Sheet

Your Full Order price sheet is the one the studio plans to sell images and services with.

Create a trigger product

Under My Designs, create a product to add to the price sheet.

πŸ“ Consider the following:

  • Using a non-print product to prevent image-related processes.

  • Add a new category to keep your catalog organized.

Add BOO code to trigger product

Open the Price Sheet, then select a package or product to add a BOO discount code.

πŸ“’ Recommend adding the "trigger product" to your full order price sheet.

Create trigger order for all subjects with orders

With the set pieces made, start giving discounts to all subjects who pre-ordered.

Assign all pre-orders

In a Job, open Job Orders β†’ Order Tools β†’ Assign Orders. Make sure all pre-orders are assigned before proceeding.

Switch price sheets

Switch the price sheets from a pre-order deposit only to a full order price sheet.

Bulk add trigger orders

In a Job, open Job Orders β†’ Order Tools β†’ Bulk Add Orders.

  1. Filter on subjects with orders.

  2. Select the trigger product.

  3. Complete checkout.

What's next?

After syncing the orders, discount codes will be created for each applicable subject. They'll automatically apply to the next order on the subject,
